Medium Monday #9: Farmers Market

It’s no secret that we have been working tirelessly on the backend to get emissions moved over and integrated into our new v3 farms — in fact, were very close now, and we could not be more stoked about it!

I wanted to take a second to reflect a little on the value of farms not just for SpiritSwap, but on the market as a whole. Farms are the central guiding light around user-focused decentralized exchanges. The farms (and the tokens they yield) are the lifeblood that keeps the whole machine movin’ and groovin’. We have been aware of this for a long time, and it is why we are so excited to push this next batch of farm updates.

Farms allow users, projects, liquidity APR hunters, and whoever else to come together under one common goal: EARNING. This earning opportunity is imperative to all exchanges, because it drives liquidity, which drives volume, and volume in turn drives fees, and fees allow for the allocatin of funds back to the farm token. See the wheel here? It is the centerof the DeFi pie.

The team is beyond excited to get the wheel turning again like how it was meant to, especially on the backs of our new and always improving concentrated liquidity. The farms are another step toward our goals of making this exchange the best it has ever been.

Deep-diving into the farms of v1 and v2 for SpiritSwap has also yielded the team an amazing amount of information. We had to study and learn extensively about what was going on before in the old farms intricate systems. Taking the time to learn these systems has allowed us to become very comfortable with the Spirit token, how it works, and how best to optimize the farms moving forward.
